| Description |
Hotel Overview
The Andaz, one of the grand railway-station hotels of the Victorian era, re-opened its doors in February 2000 after a three-year refurbishment costing £70 million. While reviving the splendour of the original Victorian hotel, the new design
injects the building with a strong sense of modernity. Many of the building's original features have been preserved and sleek modern design sits comfortably alongside the nineteenth-century staircases, fireplaces and intricate plaster moldings.
Accommodation
Guestrooms are decorated in a bold, minimalist style and all offer views over the city or over the stained-glass atrium. The upper floors have a modern, contemporary loft-style feel with light colour schemes and porthole windows, while the lower floors retain elements of their Victorian heritage such as high ceilings, wide open windows and dark panelling. Room amenities include Frette linen sheets, 2-line telephones, high-speed internet connections, CD players, TV, DVD, in-room safe, and personal bar. The private bathrooms have power showers, bathrobes, and designer toiletries.
Bars & Restaurants
The hotel offers an impressive range of dining and drinking options including a brasserie, a classical European restaurant, a Japanese restaurant, seafood restaurant and oyster bar, and 24 hour room service.
Health & Fitness
The hotel has a health club located in a former Masonic temple which offers
massages, manicures, fitness equipment, and yoga classes with personal instructors.
A complimentary
steam room with power showers and Ren toiletries is also available.
Business & Conference Facilities
The hotel offers a selection of 12 private dining and event rooms accommodating from 10 to 400 people. A Business Centre and dedicated AV team can supply, set-up and run all technical aspects of your function. All event rooms have CATV and ISDN lines, with presentation equipment and video conferencing also available.
